College Rules
Identifies a variety of college rules of interest to disabled individuals. The Primary and Most inclusive of which is the Accessibility For Disabled Individuals, which explicitly states the college’s commitment to full compliance with both the spirit and letter of the law. The rule directs the ADA Coordinator, in coordination with appropriate college officials, to continue to identify and remove any rule, practice or procedure, which discriminates against persons with disabilities and to develop a procedure to resolve any disability related complaint or dispute. Although the college is proactive in developing access and inclusion by design, the college Access policy explicitly recognizes its affirmative obligation of ensuring “meaningful access” and providing “equally effective Communication” to and with disabled individuals and directs the Disability Resource Center (DRC) to provide information and develop procedures for the provision of accommodations (adaptive devices and/or auxiliary staff and services) to meet the individual and unique needs of disabled persons.
