List of Tests
At Manatee Community College, entry assessment consists of the Computerized Placement Test (CPT) from the College Board or the paper/pencil version of the CPT called the Florida Placement Test (FPT). The tests are sentence skills, reading skills, elementary algebra and college level mathematics. Application to Manatee Community College is required before assessment and there is no additional charge for the CPT. The CPT takes approximately two hours and is available days and evenings. To take the CPT, contact the testing center on either campus.
Note: Test scores are only valid for 2 consecutive years from date of test based on state statutes.
College Level Examination Program-CLEP
Manatee Community College is an open CLEP testing site. Manatee Community College will allow credit for satisfactory scores earned in the comprehensive and subject examinations offered by the College Entrance Examination Board. A maximum of 30 hours may be earned in this manner. The student must score at or above the 50th percentile of the national norms. No credit will be allowed if the student has attempted or earned college credit in a course in a similar area or higher level.
Distance Learning Test Proctoring **
The assessment & testing centers at Manatee Community College offer test proctoring services. Students enrolled in distance learning or other courses can take their required examinations at our institution rather than traveling to the original institution for evaluative purposes.

Prospective dual enrollment students who have been referred by their high school guidance counselor should contact the testing center on either campus to schedule a CPT test appointment. The testing center will advise students on the appropriate portion(s) of the CPT necessary to enroll in their selected courses.
Accommodated Testing
Students must complete a Request for Services Form from the
Disability Resource Center. The assessment & testing centers on the Bradenton and Venice campus' will make appointments to proctor tests, quizzes or exams for those students meeting the requirements for accommodated testing
Academic Affairs Testing
Enrollment Services, through the assessment and testing centers on each campus, offers an extensive program of group and individual testing designed to meet the needs of students. The assessment & testing centers will offer Academic Affairs testing for Manatee Community College students [i.e., Distance Learning, Make-up Exams, and Accommodated Testing.]
Nursing Entrance Test (NET)
- Only NET scores completed at MCC will be considered for the MCC Nursing program.
- The cost of the test is $25.
- Students who do not meet the minimum scores will be referred to remediation prior to a second attempt at the NET.
- Prior to completing the NET students are strongly encouraged to utilize study resources.
- Passing the NET is required for application.
- You should take the NET no earlier than 6 months before your application to the nursing program.
- If you have not earned a GPA of 3.0 or better in the prerequisites for the nursing program, you should not take the NET.
