Acceptance Process1. The registrar office will document the receipt of the Fresh Start petition and will notify the student in writing, confirming both the receipt of the petition by appropriate deadline for submission and the academic program/courses in which the student is enrolled. 2. Upon receipt of the term final grades, the College registrar office will notify all students who submitted a Fresh Start petition as to whether or not they have met the academic requirements to be accepted into the Fresh Start Program. 3. Those students who complete and submit the Fresh Start petition by the appropriate established deadline and meet all academic eligibility requirements will be formally accepted in writing into the Fresh Start Program. 4. When a student is formally accepted into the Fresh Start Program, all credits and grades completed prior to the Fresh Start term will remain on the student’s permanent record (transcript) but will not be considered in any grade point average computations at Transfer Credits There is no guarantee, expressed or implied, that the Fresh Start Program will be recognized by any other college, university or future employer. Other institutions may continue to consider older credits and grades in evaluating the student’s work. Relief through this Fresh Start Program does not excuse the student from restrictions related to repeating courses or from compliance with other applicable College policies. Financial Aid Concerns Financial aid eligibility may be affected by enrolling in the Fresh Start Program. Students are advised to contact the financial aid office on either campus prior to each term of attendance. An appointment with the financial aid office prior to acceptance into the Fresh Start Program is required in the Fresh Start application process (step 3).
