MariLynn Lewy became the Registrar at Manatee Community College in July 2002 and was the former assistant registrar at the University of Central Florida. She currently serves as the treasurer of SACRAO (Southern Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers) and also stays active in AACRAO (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers), FACRAO (Florida Association of College Registrars and Admission Officers) and FCCRAO (Florida Community College Registrar and Admission Officers). She was the former registrar at Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri for four years and also served in various academic departments during her ten-year employment with that institution.
MariLynn takes pride in her position and states that, "The Registrar Office is continually striving to improve the services to our students. The registrar office has implemented many new on-line initiatives including the on-line degree audit, on-line admissions applications, and enhanced web registration features. I'm very excited about these initiatives and where MCC is growing as an institution. We are a progressive college that believes in serving our students. MCC sits in a wonderful community and we continue to show students and our local area what this great institution has to offer for individuals wanting to continue their education."

Karen Armstrong

Karen Armstrong has been with the Registrar Office since 1975, after having earned both an Associate in Arts and an Associate in Science degrees, here at Manatee Community College. She began here as an Admissions and Records clerk, working her way up to Lead Records Specialist. July 1, 2002 she was named Assistant Registrar.
Mrs. Armstrong stays active in a variety of professional associations including the FACC and the Florida Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers. As time permits, she attends the annual meetings for the Florida Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and American Associate of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers to stay abreast of changes in the profession.
She has helped to implement the administrative system that supports Registrar Office functions. Karen has a strong commitment to MCC and concern for students.

Bill Hekking graduated from both Cuyahoga Community College and Cleveland State University. He has been working in higher education since 1977 and has been working at MCC since 1986. Currently, he is the Coordinator of Admissions and International Student Services.
Bill is an active member of the following organizations: NAFSA (Association of International Educators). FAIE (Florida Association of International Educators), FCCRAO (Florida Community College Registrars and Admissions Officers), FACRAO (Florida Association of Collegiate Registrar and Admission Officers) and ACCRAO (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers).
He also takes pride in his ability to interact with students. Mr. Hekking was included in the Who's Who Among America's Teachers for 2003/2004, 2004/2005 and 2005/2006.

The duties of our staff include but are not limited to; customer service, processing admission applications for American and inbound international students, registration, updating and maintaining all student records and grades, residency for tuition purposes, maintaining the online degree audit system, transcript requests and the evaluation of transfer credit and graduation.
