About MCC

The area’s oldest public institution of higher education, Manatee Community College is an accredited, two-year Florida institution established in 1957 to provide college training for residents of Manatee and Sarasota counties. The College is a member of the state's 28-institution community college system and receives the majority of its funding from state allocations, tuition and fees.

MCC is a dynamic College dedicated to meeting the educational and workforce training needs of citizens and businesses in one of Florida’s most rapidly growing regions. MCC awards associate in arts (A.A.) university parallel degrees, associate in science (A.S.) and associate in applied science (A.A.S.) career track degrees, and certificates.

Enrollment in credit classes at the College exceeds 10,000 students, including residents of Manatee and Sarasota counties, neighboring Florida counties, many other states and several foreign countries. Students attend classes at locations in Bradenton, Venice and Lakewood Ranch, and throughout the community. Many students attend college from their homes via eLearning opportunities. Annual attendance for noncredit workforce, enrichment and continuing education classes, workshops and events is about 30,000.

The College is a member of the Florida Association of Community Colleges, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the American Association of Community Colleges and the Florida Association of Colleges and Universities.
