The curriculum for the music minor offers the non-music major abundant opportunities to increase musicianship and performance skills and to deepen music appreciation.
All students minoring in music should take the same core curriculum consisting of 11 credit hours.

Introduction to Music History & Literature (MUH 2110)

Students enrolling in MUT 1111/MUT 1241 must successfully pass the music theory placement test or complete Fundamentals of Music (MUT 1001) with a grade of B or higher.
Music Theory I and Aural Theory I are co-requisites
Music Theory II and Aural Theory II are co-requisites
Students seeking a minor in music may choose from three (3) concentrations:
1) Music History-Theory-Literature 2) Applied Music 3) Composition
Select the following course(s) according to the area of concentration
History-Theory-Literature concentration a. Music ensemble (1 hour each) 2-4 hours
Applied Music concentration a. Applied lessons (2 hours each) 6-8 hours b. Music ensemble (1 hour each) 2-4 hours
