The GED Preparation Program at ManateeCommunity College provides comprehensive basic education instruction to adult learners (ages 18 and older) who are preparing for the General Education Development (GED) Test. The program seeks to encourage the pursuit of lifelong learning opportunities and promotes obtaining the GED credential as "A Step in the Right Direction".
CLASSES ARE FREE of charge and are offered at MCC Bradenton, MCC Venice, the MCC Traffic Safety Institute (Dowtown Sarasota) and Girls Inc. in Sarasota. This program is open entry which means YOU CANstart at any time throughout the year. After you earn your GED diploma, MCC offers a variety of educational programs to pursue. Our counselors can assist you in choosing career-training opportunities suitable to your goals.

How do you get started?
It's easy to get started! Just call or walk in to any of our locations and sign up for a required orientation. During a brief 1 hour overview with a program recruiter, you will begin the registration process, learn more about the resources available to you, and be scheduled to take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) Assessment -- the assessment that allows us to create your individual study plan for success!
