Personal enrichment courses enable people from all segments of the community to clarify values, increase operatonal skills and enhance personal growth. Programs are available to learners of all ages through multiple instructional deliveries. ART

NEW!

Creative Printmaking - transform your paintings, watercolors and drawings into limited edition prints through various printmaking techniques such as relief (linoleum), etching, transfer, collography, monotype and screen-printing.  Instructor examples and demonstrations inform the course.  Students are encouraged to explore and develop their artistic vision.  Course is suitable to students of all levels.  Advanced students may do independent work both during and outside of actual class.  No prerequisites.  Additional special fees are required.  Three hours studio/lecture per week.  Cost:  $155 (includes $40 lab fee)

Stained Glass - Robert Obering, a local stained-glass artist, will teach the fundamentals of design, construction and assembly of your own artistic creation! Beginners will learn the basics of making stained glass with the copper foil method. With the assistance of the instructor, advanced students will learn to create three-dimensional items. Instruction includes pattern preparation, cutting glass, copper foiling, soldering and finishing.

Private Instruction: Piano, Voice and Musical Instruments - Private lessons are available for interested community members or nondegree-seeking MCC students. Lessons should be prearranged with instructors before registration. You can contact instructors directly through the Corporate and Community Development office, 941-752-5203, or through the music department, 941-752-5351. At the time of registration, the student should know the instructor’s name, kind of lesson, date, day and time of class. Course numbers are assigned as students enroll.
Fee: $290 for seven one-hour weekly lessons, $145 for seven half-hour weekly lessons.
