Local Housing |
All prospective students who do not have a place to live in the local area must find housing. As a community college, MCC does not provide housing for any of its students, on or off campus. The College recommends that once a student has been issued an F-1 Student Visa by the American Embassy in their home country they begin to take steps to find suitable housing:

-
At Mapquest, compare the location of those apartments with the location of the desired campus:
Main Campus Branch Campus
MCC-Bradenton MCC-Venice
5840 26th Street West 8000 South Tamiami Trail
Bradenton, FL 34207 Venice, FL 34293
-
Before making a decision, check out Local Transportation to see if there is a bus route available near the apartments being considered.
Those students who wish to wait until they arrive to find housing will need to make arrangements to stay with family or friends who live in the local area or to stay in a local hotel.
The U.S. government permits students to arrive in the U.S. up to 30 days prior to the start of classes. Be advised that students should plan to be on campus by August 13, 2007 for Fall Semester 2007 or by January 2, 2008 for Spring Semester 2008 in order to: take the placement tests, register for classes, go through Orientation, become familiar with the area, find housing, and attend the required immigration meeting.
Every F-1 student new to the College is required to attend the Immigration Meeting at the beginning of Fall or Spring Semester (January 4, 2008 for F-1 students new to the college For Spring 2008). This Immigration Meeting is held from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon in Building #4 on the Bradenton campus. A verification of the date to arrive on MCC-Bradenton campus or MCC-Venice campus will be enclosed with the student's I-20.
