April 28, Monday

Web registration begins for all currently enrolled students continuing for Fall classes.

May 12, Monday

Web registration begins for all transfer, transient, readmits and all others not previously registered for Fall classes.

New student Web registration begins for Fall classes through new student orientations (by appointment only).

Dual enrollment registration begins for Fall on-campus classes.

June 2, Monday

Deadline to have financial aid file complete to be eligible for institutionally awarded aid for the Fall term.

June 16, Monday

Last day for dual enrollment students to submit Acceleration and Enrichment applications and dual enrollment approval forms to MCC for Fall 2008 term.

July 25, Friday

All required documents must be received by financial aid to ensure funding of tuition and fees at the beginning of the Fall term.  Documents received after this date will be processed in the order they were received by the financial aid office.  Students should pay for their classes by the established pay dates, as reimbursement will be made based upon eligibility.

August 4, Monday

All tuition and fee payments due for Fall 2008 term classes.  All class registrations for fall term not secured with full payment or financial aid will result in students having their class schedules cancelled.

All awarded financial aid will be available to pay for course costs, books and authorized supplies. 

First day students may apply for a deferment and/or short-term loan if they have a loan that has been awarded and other aid is not enough to cover tuition, fees or books. 

Books may be charged against awarded financial aid in the MCC Bookstores if financial aid is greater than course tuition and fees.  Students should review their account balance on line.  If they have a credit balance, they should go directly to the MCC Bookstore on either campus to purchase books and authorized supplies.

August 5, Tuesday

Beginning today, all students registering for Fall 2008 term classes must secure classes with full payment.

August 13, Wednesday

Last day new student applications (including readmission applications) will be accepted for Fall 2008 term classes that begin August 18-23.

August 14, Thursday

Last day Florida College Entry Level Placement Test (FCELPT) offered to new students for classes that begin August 18-23.

Faculty return.

August 15, Friday

Last day of new student orientations for Fall classes starting August 18–23.

Last day for submission of residency documentation for Fall 2008 term.

Student services offices open 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.

August 18, Monday

Fall 2008 classes begin.

Deadline to pay any tuition and fee balances not covered by financial aid; including Florida Prepaid and Bright Futures scholarships

August 21, Thursday

Last day for students to submit third attempt fee waiver forms for Fall courses

August 23, Saturday

Last day for students to add/drop classes that began August 18-23 with a refund.  No refunds after August 23.

August 29, Friday

Last day to change course from credit to audit status.

Last day to use financial aid in the bookstore.

September 1, Monday

Labor Day holiday.  College closed.

September 5, Friday First day student loan funds for returning students will be electronically applied to student accounts if funds have been received from the lender.  All charges will be deducted and any remaining balances will be available on student MCCOne card accounts.
September 5, Friday

Last day to apply for Fall 2008 graduation.

Deadline to register for October 4 CLAST.

September 17, Wednesday

First day student loan funds for first time freshman will be electronically applied to student accounts if funds have been received from the lender.  All charges will be deducted and any remaining balance will be available on student MCCOne card accounts. 

September 19, Friday Financial aid grant and scholarship balances posted to student MCCOne Card accounts.
September 29, Monday

An “I” grade not previously completed will be changed to an “F” on the student’s permanent record.

October 4, Saturday CLAST (by reservation only).
October 10, Friday

Faculty/Staff Development Day.  No day classes or academic support labs.  Classes scheduled 4 pm and later will meet as usual.

October 27, Monday

Last day to withdraw without academic penalty (no refund) for Fall 2008 classes that started during the first week of term (August 18-23).

November 11, Tuesday

Veterans Day holiday.  College closed.

November 14, Friday

Deadline to return graduation attendance form to guarantee participation in December 12, 2008 Winter Commencement ceremonies.

November 26, Wednesday

No late afternoon/evening classes or academic support labs after 4:00 pm.   All College offices close at 4:30 p.m.

November 27-30 Thanksgiving holidays.  College closed.
December 5, Friday

Fall 2008 classes end.

December 8-11 Final examinations for Fall classes.
December 12, Friday

Final grades due at 5:00 p.m. for all Fall 2008 classes.

Winter Commencement, 7 pm, Manatee Convention Center.

December 15-18

Student Services offices open 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

December 16, Tuesday

Fall 2008 grades posted to student transcripts.

Friday, December 19
