About eLearning

What is eLearning?
As an alternative to traditional on-campus study, eLearning opportunities at MCC extend educational offerings for students to take credit courses at off-campus locations, including students' home worksites. The flexibility of elearning makes it a wise choice for students who work or have family obligations that make it difficult for them to attend classes during regularly scheduled hours. In addition, all MCC support services are available to eLearning students, including microcomputer labs, tutorial centers and the MCC Library. Courses offered through the eLearning Program are comparable in quality to traditional courses offered in MCC classrooms, and they require at least as much time from students as traditional courses do. eLearning courses also require some on-campus work, orientation, review sessions and exams. The MCC eLearning Program allows for independent, self-paced learning.
What are the Advantages?
eLearning is convenient for students whose work or family obligations prevent them from attending classes during traditionally scheduled hours. MCC's eLearning courses earn the same credits as classroom courses and require at least as much of the student's time and attention. A elearning course is not easier, just more convenient. The only difference is the delivery of instruction and the degree of self-discipline needed to complete the course.
